The children of Dog the Bounty Hunter have slammed him for his televised proposal to their mother’s best friend. Dog has been in the media recently for claiming he is broke and for not having a contract, but fans are starting to worry about his life choices.

Dog and his family learned his beloved wife Beth was first diagnosed with throat cancer back in 2017 and soon after had entered remission. Sadly, only a year later she was told her cancer had returned and had now spread to her lungs. The reality star only went through one round of chemotherapy before announcing she would not seek further treatment. Beth died on June 26 due to complications from her throat cancer at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. She was only 51. The bounty hunting duo had been married since May of 2006. Her death came as a blow to the Chapman family as they had continued to film their reality show, Dogs Most Wanted.

According to Dog’s children, their late mother would be heartbroken over her husband’s antics on the Dr. Oz, show as reported by TMZ. The Feb. 3 episode that was taped in front of a live studio audience showed the bounty hunter telling Beth’s best friend, Moon Angell that God had told him he should pop the question to her while he was in the bathroom backstage. Angell has also been the maid of honor at the reality star’s wedding back in 2006.

A source close to the family reported that the children had seen the Dr. Oz clips and were not impressed by their father’s actions. The children have claimed that their late mother would not support their union and would have been furious with Dog. The outrage stemmed from a conversation the two women had before Beth passed where Angell supposedly told the reality star that she would take care of Dog when she left this world.

The only saving grace for the children was the TV proposal seemed to be a stunt. They are not actually engaged. Dog has admitted  he has grown extremely close to Angell while he was grieving the loss of his partner. The bounty hunter also admitted that he decided against taking his own life because of Angell which also upset his children. They felt he should want to stay alive for their sake. Fans are hoping Dog can navigate his day to day life while still mourning and without making any more rash decisions that could upset his family who cares deeply about him.
