Duane Chapman aka Dog the Bounty Hunter posted a touching tribute post to his late wife Beth Chapman amid engagement rumors to her friend Moon Angell. Dog has had some backlash after appearing to propose to Beth’s maid of honor while on the Dr.Oz show.
Dog and his family learned his cherished wife Beth was first diagnosed with throat cancer back in 2017 but soon after was told that it had entered remission. Unfortunately, only a year later she was told her cancer had returned and had now spread to her lungs. The popular reality star only went through one round of chemotherapy before announcing she would not seek further treatment. Beth died on June 26th due to complications from her stage II throat cancer at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. She was only 51. The bounty hunting duo had been married since May of 2006.
The 67-year-old took to his social media on February 2nd to share with his late wife that he missed her. The post came only days after videos were shared online that he had proposed to Beth’s best friend and maid of honor, Angell. In his moving Instagram post, he shared with his followers a behind the scenes photo of Beth and himself as they were leaning in for a kiss with the caption, “I sure miss you today.” Check out the post below:
Since the death of Beth, Dog has paid tribute to her memory many times over the last seven months by speaking with the media and posting to his social media accounts. Only last week the bounty hunter seemed to offend his children and fans by alluding to a possible engagement. The clip in question showed Dog and Angell with Dr. Oz in what looked like a compromising situation. Dog mentioned that he was a lot happier with Angell around then asked, “Moon Angell, will you marry me?” Even though it looks to be a sham proposal, fans were outraged at how fast he seemed to move on so quickly.
In January, a source close to the family had said that the couple was not in a romantic partnership as Angell had just been a close family friend to both Dog and Beth for many years. Angell has only stepped in to help Dog navigate the tough road ahead as there will never be another Beth. Dog had already promised his late wife that he would never marry again and feels that when the time comes, he may be able to date but assured her to never recite the marriage vows.
