Dog the Bounty Hunter, aka Duane “Dog” Chapman, decided to propose to his late wife Beth’s maid of honor, Moon Angell while appearing on The Dr. Oz Show. The strange proposal on the daytime health show caught everyone off guard, including Moon and Dr. Oz themselves and left the audience gasping that the had moved from his wife after just seven months.
Dog’s beloved wife Beth was first diagnosed with throat cancer back in 2017 and soon after had entered remission. Sadly, a year later she was told her cancer had returned and spread to her lungs. The reality star only went through one round of chemotherapy before announcing she would not seek further treatment. Beth died on June 26th due to complications from her throat cancer at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was only 51. The bounty hunting duo had been married since May of 2006. Her death came as a shock to the Chapman family as they had continued to film their reality show, Dogs Most Wanted.
It was revealed through a trailer for The Dr. Oz show that Dog had brought his new girlfriend and ended up proposing to her in front of the studio audience and cameras. Even though the reality star had been left brokenhearted from the death of his wife, Beth, it would seem that he had found a way to move on just seven months later. The mystery lady ended up being none other than Moon Angell, who happened to be best friends with Beth, so much so that she was her maid of honor in Dog and Beth’s 2006 wedding. Rumors had hit the tabloids a few weeks ago that claimed the two were dating and that their relationship had caused a rift between the Chapman family as his daughter claimed that he was lying about their relationship. Check out the tweet by Dr. Oz which shows the shocking proposal below:
Moon was once Beth’s personal assistant and never showed feelings towards Dog while the two were married. A source close to the show said that Dog had told Moon he loved while they were filming the episode and that he had spoken with God in the bathroom while they were on break and God told him he should propose, but a family source has claimed that the TV proposal was a hoax and that Dog just got a bit caught up and emotional at the moment. The reality star did not give Moon a ring and sources claim that they are currently are not engaged.
The full episode of The Dr. Oz Show is set to air on Monday, February 3rd in which fans can judge for themselves if they believe the proposal was meant wholeheartedly. The Dog the Bounty Hunter star had acknowledged during recent interviews that Moon had been very helpful during the passing of his wife and he had leaned on her for support. It seems odd that Dog would jump to propose to Moon so quickly, as he had mentioned after his wife’s death that he vowed to never marry again.
