Dog’s Most Wanted star Duane “Dog” Chapman, has opened up about his love life now that’s he’s become a widower. Since his beloved wife, Beth Chapman, has passed, he opened up about how he feels both dating and sex is a thing of the past for him.

Beth passed away at the age of 51, after fighting a long and painful battle with stage 4 throat cancer. She was in and out of the hospital and had undergone aggressive chemotherapy after her cancer returned in November 2018. The couple was set to host a new series, Dog’s Most Wanted for WGN America, in which a portion of the show has featured her cancer struggle. After being hospitalized for difficulty breathing on Saturday, June 22, she was then placed in a medically-induced coma by doctors for her own safety after experiencing severe pain from lack of oxygen. After days in a coma, Beth passed away at 5:32 am on June 26th in Hawaii. Dog has been mourning the loss of his wife and is so clearly shaken up by the changes that he revealed previously that he would never remarry out of respect for his late-wife.

After suffering multiple health scares in the months following his beloved Beth’s passing, he’s chalked the heart-attack-like symptoms to be a case of a broken heart. According to an interview with People, Dog revealed that it’s a bizarre feeling of being free from marriage. Dog said, “When your spouse dies, as a man, I mean as me, so generally probably everybody, you’re released from that obligation of being married.” He continued, “So your mind and you go crazy. And then after a while, you realize that never will no one ever love me as much as she did. And I will probably never love anyone else as much as I loved her.”

He then admitted that his love life will likely never be the same as it was with Beth. He revealed that his outlook on physical intimacy has changed drastically since laying his wife to rest this summer. He explained, “Sex is a thing like almost in the past right now.” He continued, “I’m not having it and I don’t care. It’s weird.” Though he vowed that he would never remarry, he also revealed previously that Beth would want him to date so that he doesn’t feel alone. However, it seems that dating has proved to be more difficult than he expected.

It seems that right now, Dog is trying his best to get healthy again after the loss of his wife and the heart attack scare he had in the recent months. Dog is trying to stay positive about the future, but it’s obvious that Beth was the love of his life and it’s faring to be very difficult for him to move past her death. It remains to be seen if Dog will be able to find a woman that is worthy of his love in the future, but as for now, he’s still very much in the grieving process.
