As of now, there is no download link to download the latest Fuchsia OS on Google Pixelbook. But Recently Google has updated the Github to explain details on How to install Fuchsia OS on the Pixelbook, which means Google was testing Fuchsia OS internally on Pixelbook.

Google has not said anything related to it, but we can assume that someday we will see Fuchsia OS on every platform of the electronic device from smartphone to computer.

Google Pixelbook is the latest high-end laptop which is used for the testing process of the Fuchsia OS. Earlier Google updated the FuchsiaOS Documentation which reveals that the Acer Switch Alpha 12 and Intel NUC are officially supported ‘target’ devices.

Steps to Install Fuchsia OS on Google Pixelbook

First of all, Put your device in developer mode

WARNING: This will wipe all the data on your Pixelbook, So make sure to backup all data before trying this on your Pixelbook.

  • Turn off the Pixelbook
  • Go into recovery mode by holding down Refresh+Esc while powering on the device.
  • Go into developer mode by pressing Ctrl+D.
  • Wait for the device to reconfigure itself, this may take a while

Booting from USB

  • First of all, boot into ChromeOS
  • At the welcome or login screen press Ctrl+Alt+Refresh/F3 to enter a command shell.
  • Enter ‘Chronos’ as the user with a blank password
  • Enable USB booting by running sudo crossystem dev_boot_usb=1
  • (optional) Default to USB booting by running sudo crossystem dev_default_boot=usb.
  • Reboot
